And another one down.

Well, that's another stretch goal down and in record time. I can't believe how quickly we are progressing.

A couple of updates for you guys tonight. Firstly, some of you may have already noticed the images on the campaign page look a bit different since an hour or so ago. I have gone through my files and changed the fonts to something a little simpler than before, but this is mainly to completely set it apart from official Wizards books. The original fonts I was using were very similar to the official ones and I was a little bit worried that Hasbro/WotC would get in touch about it, so I went ahead and changed it all, top to bottom.

All of the content in the book is fine and remaining as it was. I have just changed the look a little bit. I am not completely set on the fonts used at the moment. I'd like something a little more fantastical, but for now this is just to avoid any potential issues.

Secondly, stretch goals. As of now, I am a little bit burnt out in regards to them. As some of you know, this campaign is being run by me. One man, not a large company or a team of people. I am handling everything with this book. With the unlocked stretch goals there is a lot of added work to do (especially the item cards) and I want to ensure I can get everything done to a high standard and on time. So as of now, there is no stretch goal to unlock. As we head into the final week, there will be a few more to come. But for now, I am going to put a pause on them for a week or so as we are blowing through them on a daily basis, it's getting me a bit stressed and it's always more fun to have a couple in the final few days.

Hope you guys understand, but don't worry. There will absolutely be more, including some that have been requested.

If anyone has any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I am always happy to help.

Stay safe and have a great weekend guys.

Well, this has taken off...

G'morning guys. The last couple of days have been a little crazy. We have gone up £20,000 or so in the last couple of days. Unlocking the stretch goal and then some so I will indeed be designing and making the Magic item cards and making them available as addons in the pledge manager. They will later be available via drivethrurpg on a print on demand basis, but their price will likely be higher due to DTRPG taking their 30% cut, plus I want to ensure they are a lower price for everyone who has supported me here.

I have been thinking about stretch goals and what I think I will be able to do for everyone, and while I do have a few more in mind, I am starting to reach a point that I never expected at all and it has blown me away. I also may have had my first 5 stretch goals too close together! haha.

Anyways, for the next stretch goal at £75,000 (750% Funding) I will be including Free Magic item cards for one class and one race to everyone who has pledged for a physical copy of the book. That is over 30,000 cards as of now, and if the last couple of days are anything to go by, it will likely end up over 100,000 cards I will be giving away as part of this stretch goal.

Thank you all for the tremendous support.

News!
almost 6 years ago – Tue, May 19, 2020 at 11:03:27 AM

Hey guys. Firstly I'd like to thank all of you for pushing us past the 400% funded mark. That has been huge for me and it looks like we should be able to hit the 500% stretch goal and unlock the Item cards.

Secondly, I have partnered with Backerkit to add a pledge manager to this campaign. I did this for several reasons. 1, I wanted a way to be able to provide backers with the item cards at a reduced cost to those who would just find and print them from Drivethrurpg. So instead, I will be organising the printing of the cards from an independent manufacturer in Europe. This means I can lower the cost of the cards for you all and you don't need to pay the extra shipping that drivethru would add onto your order as I can send them to you with your books.

2. I have had a few people ask about adding a second or third book to their pledge. Previously the only way this would have been possible would be to manually increase your pledge by the amount of a book and shipping. However this doesn't keep track of what the increase is for. Using the Backerkit pledge manager, additional books will be an addon item that you can add.

3. Likewise for those of you who are pledging for one of the item creation tiers. I have had around 20 people from those tiers wanting to upgrade to the Deluxe Kickstarter Exclusive cover. Up until now, those people have had to increase their pledge manually. Instead, the upgrade will be handled via Backerkit. After the campaign is finished and you gain access to the addon store, you will find balance in your account equal to the upgrade amount, this will not have been charged by kickstarter. All you need to do then is select the upgrade from the addon store and the amount you manually increased will be detucted from your balance.

4. I have had a few people back at a £1 level to keep an eye on the project, these people now have access to the pledge manager and can decide when the campaign ends whether they want to add a book or not.

5. The Backerkit pledge manage is supposed to be much easier to deal with than the native kickstarter one when it comes to shipping. My previous campaign https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spell-sleuth/5th-edition-spell-sleuth only had 200 backers and it has been a nightmare to organise shipping due to kickstarter being a bit of a nightmare in the way they handle their information. With this campaign already having over 1000, I'm hoping this will make things a little easier on me.

Thats the update guys. If you have any questions or queries please feel free to ask away.I'll help in any way I can.

Thanks again, and be safe.

A little bit of an early update for you.

Hey guys! I know it's usually every couple of days that I post an update but I am at the hospital with my two year old tomorrow and I could be there all day and possibly into Sunday, so I am getting the update done now.

Another couple of items for you all to play with. The second one is particularly useful for DM's with players who don't take as many notes as they really should! Have fun and stay safe everyone!

New stretch goal.
almost 6 years ago – Fri, May 15, 2020 at 12:53:56 AM

Hey everyone. After many requests I have decided that the next stretch goal will be to unlock Magic item cards you can hand out to your players. These will be available as addons after the campaign is finished as I will need to design them all and get them made. These item cards will be great news for some, and not so much for others ,so rather than me get hundreds of decks made of 800+ cards etc, they will be made available on drivethrurpg on a print on demand basis.

Decks will be split into races and classes, then a magic item set deck. The race and class decks will be a few dollars each and you can pick and choose whatever you want so no need to get item cards for races you would never play. The price point just barely covers the manufacturing costs and the cut that drivethru take, I stand to make about 2 pennies per card, but since they have been requested so much I decided it would be beneficial to you.

This stretch goal is set at £50,000 (500% Funding). I know it's quite a big leap from the previous goal, but this will be a huge undertaking and could well have been a complete campaign by itself.

Thanks for your continued support.
