Hi guys. Just a few little updates for you, apologies for the lack of comments and such over the last few weeks. I've been suffering with Covid-19 and due to a pre-existing respiratory condition it was more complex than most cases. I got home from the hospital yesterday and am just trying to get back in the swing of things despite finding simple tasks such as moving and breathing more difficult than ever before, but it's just one of those things I'm sure will improve over time. 

Now, onto the book. As far as content goes, its around 80% complete, I am waiting on some artwork to be sent to me that was commissioned for some of the items created by backers. I will be going through all of the backer created items in the next week or two and will be getting in touch with you regarding any changes that may need to be made. Whether this is simple wording, mechanics that don't comply with 5e rulesets or just descriptions being huge. I mean, massive, like 2 full pages haha. 

Once all the content is complete I will get around to formatting the book, I'm still not certain about certain layout choices etc, but that should take around a week or so to format the book in its entirety. Then the final step is to get the book sent to the proofreaders. Once all of that is done I will be sending the files over to the printers and 4-6 weeks later I should have the books in hand.  This is the time frame given to me by the printers. 

In regards to the cards, I need to wait until the book is complete to finish the cards as they all have page numbers on them. Once this is done I will be able to send the cards off to be printed. Unfortunately the company I was using for card printing has permanently closed to due not being able to stay afloat during the pandemic. So I am currently looking for other card printers in Europe that can fulfil the job. I have one lined up in china as a backup, but that will be a last resort. 

Providing the printers time frames are accurate and I can find a European card printer, everything will be on track to ship out in December as planned. 

One last thing, the backerkit addons have gone over amazingly, thank you all so much for the support of those extras. There are still 521 people who are yet to complete their surveys. You have until the end of the month to get them filled in before the surveys lock and cards are charged. (Surveys lock August 31st, cards are charged September 1st)

Update on the cards

Hey everyone. I hope you are all doing well and staying safe in these scary times. I have been thinking and toying around with the cards over the last week and I feel I have found a happy middle ground for what everyone wanted. 

All of the basic info is there. Name, item type, attunement etc but in the description I have highlighted in bold anything that affects gameplay. This will make it easier for new players to keep track of what dice they need to roll and helps experienced players note any potential differences at a glance. 

As you can see. I have also changed the font to make everything easier to ready and clean up the design somewhat. This is pretty much how the cards will look. All crucial info will be easy to read at a glance. 

I know some of you have been waiting to see the final design before deciding on whether you want to add on any extra cards via the pledge manager. Well now you can add them if you like the designs, and those of you have already added can still remove your addons if you feel you need to. 

Just to clarify, you all have until the end of August to modify your pledge manager addons. Pledges will lock on 31st August and cards will be charges on September 1st.  I would like to thank all of you who have added items on, at last count I need to get 800,000+ Cards made now! Unbelievable support.

Hey everyone. Just a quick update today to say thank you to the 60% who have already filled out your surveys and to those who have added extras onto your pledge. It is hugely appreciated.

Finally, I just wanted to announce that Greedy Mimic Games now has social media accounts and any follows will be appreciated. They are pretty blank for now  but will soon be getting updates posted to them once I have everything else sorted out. You will get more regular updates through the social media channels than you will through kickstarter updates, albeit they will be smaller in size.

Get ready for the Surveys.

Hey everyone. I hope you are all staying safe and keeping busy. Just a small update today to let you know the details about the backerkit surveys.

They will be getting sent out in the next 24 hours or so. I'm just waiting on Backerkit to approve them, they have already been issued. 

If you want to upgrade from a digital copy to a physical copy, there will be the option to change your pledge level before you start answering the survey questions. Make sure you do this first otherwise you won't be able to change later. 

The surveys will be open until the end of August, so you have until then to change any addons you may want to add or remove, as well as those who are creating their own items, you have until then to get the items posted.

If you want to add any addons, payment will be taken from you on September 1st, not when you complete the survey.

If you add extras such as books for friends etc, there will be no additional shipping costs.  You have already paid for shipping via Kickstarter. 

If you need to change your address at any point, you have until November 1st to do this freely inside Backerkit. After this date the addresses will be locked in as the books will be getting shipped out shortly after this.

Backerkit surveys, new company and future plans, oh my!

Hey everyone. Since I have been getting messages and comments on a daily basis regarding the backerkit surveys and when they will be coming I thought I would post an update as it's more likely more of you will see it. 

The surveys will be sent out as soon as it is actually possible. That means as soon as I pay my invoice with backerkit, the surveys will be available to be sent. I can't pay the invoice until kickstarter deposits the funds into my bank. That is all we are waiting on. The transfer of funds will be initiated on Monday, the transfer will take 2-3 days so you should all have your surveys on wednesday/thursday of next week. Then you can all hand over your delivery information and decide whether you want to upgrade from a PDF only copy to a Hardback version, or add on extra item cards etc. There is no rush. :) 

Next up, I wanted to let you all know I have set up a company through which this book and any future books/projects will be published through. This is very exciting for me and I am happy to bring to you Greedy Mimic Games LTD. 

Going ahead, providing this book is well received, the plan is to publish a new book every 12-18 months, however I will not rush a book just to fit that timeframe. If a book needs more time dedicated to it, I will spend the extra time to make sure it is perfect. I already have an idea of 3 different books I would like to write. I never thought I would be able to essentially convert a hobby I love into a career, but I have. That is all down to you.
